40 years ago Alfred Bast visited Pondicherry and Auroville for the first time. On the basis of a 6 months German scholarship, he was able to dedicate himself to the question of how dual opposing forces can cause and fertilize a creative polar field.
Over the years, 7 sessions were realized with mainly flowers and light in the centre of Bast’s work.
In cooperation with the musician Holger Jetter an art portfolio on the four aspects of the Divine Mother following texts by Sri Aurobindo was published in 2004. The act of drawing with direct sunlight was accompanied by improvisations on the electric violin. The work was titled "drawing with light" and exhibited in the Aurodhan Gallery.
In the current presentation drawings of his present stay, Dec. 17, 2013 – Feb. 24, 2014, are shown:
Sketches with texts, drawings and portraits.
These are explorations with only a few quickly set lines of an individual profile opening up spiritual realities that only a poetically inspired approach can make visible.
Also included: "Winter Solstice 2012 – 2013”, printed graphs of a daily set of drawings and texts, covering the period from Dec. 21, 2012 to Jan. 6, 2014.
